Tyler helped me take boxes to the post office this afternoon.

Before he left, we uncorked the bottle of wine we had saved from our wedding.

Poured two glasses and toasted: 'To what I still don't think was a bad idea.'

Poured the rest of the bottle down the drain.

Coworker said that this morning. A compliment on the physical, but it's easy to start overthinking it. So I checked in on the physical. Down 17 pounds since early October. ( That's a thing. )

Today marks a month that I've been living alone.

The sensation of not having rings on my left hand became too distracting sometime in the wee hours of this morning. Now I'm wearing a sliver ring with a pearl, a gift from my mom. It's not the same size, the indentation is visible around it. But it helps.

It was hot and heavy and gross when I was out for lunch 20 minutes ago. Now it's dark like 9pm and thundering. I think that's lightning and Hey! The power just flickered.

Oh, and there goes the torrential rain.

I think I left my windows open this morning.

I also think that I am buying hot chocolate and candles on the way home.

I have had This Year by the Mountain Goats stuck in my head since Ira played it on friday. It's been feeling appropriate. I've been thinking that's silly, with 21 days to go in the year.
